Additional Hospital-Based Non-Invasive Services

Many services that are available at the Suncoast Heart Institute, PLLC are also provided at many of our local area hospitals. Some hospitals can provide certain additional cardiac services that are not available at the Suncoast Heart Institute, PLLC. If you are scheduled to have a cardiac study or procedure done in a hospital, these studies (or procedures) will be administered and supervised in the hospital by an assigned or a hospital-employed cardiologist. You should request to have the hospital send copy of your procedure report directly to your primary care physician, and to have a separate copy of your report sent to the Suncoast Heart Institute, PLLC.

We prefer to receive copies of all of your cardiac diagnostic and/or therapeutic studies/procedures, including: cardiac echo-Doppler studies, cardiac catheterization and coronary interventional films, Holter monitor electrocardiographic event recorder reports, as well as reports of signal-averaged electrocardiograms, T-wave alternans tests, pacemaker/ICD telephonic interrogations, nuclear cardiac imaging studies (perfusion or cardiac function studies), and pacemaker/ICD interrogation and/or reprogramming. It is recommended that you request and keep a copy of your procedure reports for your own records.

You should request to have the hospital and the operating physician’s office provide you with your pre-procedural instructions, well in advance of your scheduled procedure date. Be certain that the hospital has all of your contact information up to date. In addition, you should contact the appropriate hospital on the day prior to your procedure to confirm your appointment time.
